The Rock is an inclusive climbing project located at the YMCA in Plymouth.

Our open sessions are available for experienced or beginner climbers, families or individuals. 

​

We offer a safe space with coaches available to assist, coach and develop our members and visitors, as well as FREE access to equipment that will enable the opportunity for people to try climbing. 

 

In line with best practice in the climbing sector we require all visitors to read and agree some terms and conditions, and sign our parent/carer waiver form or adult waiver form, 

 

The BMC Participation Statement say that: The BMC recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.

• If you are an Experienced climber, click here, read and agree the conditions, and sign up to be a member. 

Remember if you are using your own equipment it needs to fulfil the requirements of the legislation for Personal Protective Equipment (age, condition & function), our Coaches can check this with you if required. 

 

• If your are a Beginner, please click here and read the conditions, but don’t agree them, sign up as a member  and on arrival at your first session one of our coaches will spend time with you to instruct you to a level where you are considered competent, at this point you will be required to agree the conditions, enabling you to come and climb when ever you want.

The Rock is a cashless facility, you can pay by card or phone on arrival.
